Dianne McNaughton

Crafter

Dianne has recently moved to South Lanarkshire, Scotland after spending many years in Cape Town, South Africa. She has been painting since 1993, exploring a variety of media through personal experimentation. She has been inspired by Margie Johnson, Jill Trappler, Judith Mason and Paul Keir, through their very generous sharing of their wealth of experience in workshops and lessons. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and loves to capture fleeting moments while painting outdoors. She is an enthusiastic urban sketcher and loves to record what she sees in the world around her. Her style of work ranges from figurative through to abstract. She has participated in various group exhibitions since 1995, held by the South African Society of Artists, Original Cape Art, Art Portfolio and Christopher Moller Art. Her paintings can be found in private collections in South Africa, U.K., U.S.A., Germany and Jordan. She is an Honorary Life Member of the South African Society of Artists. A portrait of Dianne’s has recently been selected (short-listed) for the Scottish Portrait Awards 2021. She teaches watercolour painting, water-media painting and iPad drawing and has conducted demonstrations of her painting process and workshops for the Constantiaberg, Blaawberg and the Western Province Art Societies in Cape Town. Dianne is very passionate about sharing her love of painting and really enjoys guiding new painters towards their first tentative steps into the fascinating world of art.

ORCA

ORCA is one of the UK’s leading whale and dolphin conservation charities, dedicated to the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the world. Ocean Conservationists will be showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from the deck, helping everyone learn more about the marine environment around them whilst collecting vital data about whales, dolphins and porpoises to contribute to their protection. Whilst on board, the team will be delivering activities to help guests learn more about these amazing animals as well as the threats they face, including the Ambassador & ORCA pledge and the first ever cruise "Anti-whaling" campaign.

What to expect on this sailing... Norway is an incredibly productive area for whale diversity! It provides a fantastic opportunity for monitoring minke whales, humpback whale migration and feeding hotspots and the resident orca populations. It is a grand area for ORCA to highlight the importance of their anti-whaling pledge.

Visiting Norway also highlights the importance of the ORCA-Ambassador anti-whaling pledge.
