Martin Daniels

Guest Act – Comedian

Comedian, entertainer, magician and presenter Martin Daniels is a spectacular stage and screen performer, captivating audiences with his uproarious sense of humour, charming personality and consummate magical skill. Martin’s TV appearances started as a presenter on the practical joke show Game for a Laugh and still in his early twenties, Martin was catapulted to stardom in a show that received over 17 million viewers every week. His TV career continued with many shows and his unique blend of magic and comedy has proven incredibly popular with audiences across the UK theatres and cruise ships worldwide.

Pauline Daniels

Guest Act

Pauline served her time as a comedienne and has performed in every venue imaginable. Her many television appearances include, The Comedians, Saturday Royal and Wogan. But since 1986 Pauline has been hailed as one of Merseyside’s favourite theatrical daughters and one of the country’s finest actresses. Her first role was at the Liverpool Playhouse in “Chicago” as “Mama Morton” which was swiftly followed by “Rose” in “Gypsy”. Then followed many different roles including musical comedy and straight roles. In 1992 she became Willy Russell’s favourite “Shirley Valentine” and has continued to play “Shirley” all over the country. Many other plays and productions too numerous to mention have taken place since but her toughest role to date was in “Unprotected” at the Everyman which went on to be an award winner at the Edinburgh Festival in 2006 and a Scouse ology in 2007. Pauline co-presented with Roger Phillips for two years on Radio Merseyside and has sung many times with the Philharmonic Orchestra. She also plays a mean baddie in Panto and has been very successful as the Wicked Queen and Baroness Hard-up at the Floral in New Brighton. Pauline is Merseyside’s Queen of Comedy and continues to be one of Britain’s hardest working stand-up comics.

Mark Southon

Guest Speaker

Mark Southon developed his passion for whisky and fine French wines during a successful 40-year sales career. While pursuing a decent golf handicap, he has researched, tasted, and evaluated Scotch Whisky, which he considers the best social lubricant. As a self-described 'Whisky Protagonist', he enjoys sharing his knowledge in a light-hearted manner, enriched with anecdotes from his travels to distilleries. For over a decade, Mark has been delivering lectures and hosting whisky tastings, including Burns Night Suppers. He also offers talks on Gin, Sherry, Port, Rum, and various wines. Mark lives in South Yorkshire with his wife and well-stocked drinks cabinet.

ORCA is one of the UK’s leading whale and dolphin conservation charities, dedicated to the protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the world. Ocean Conservationists will be showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife that can be spotted from the deck, helping everyone learn more about the marine environment around them whilst collecting vital data about whales, dolphins and porpoises to contribute to their protection. Whilst on board, the team will be delivering activities to help guests learn more about these amazing animals as well as the threats they face, including the Ambassador & ORCA pledge and the first ever cruise "Anti-whaling" campaign.

What to expect on this sailing... This entire route provides an abundance of cetacean activity! From monitoring minke whales and fin whales through the Irish sea, and resident populations of bottlenose dolphins around the UK. The North Sea provides an excellent monitoring opportunity in a marine protected area important for harbour porpoises. The Shetland Islands is a perfect area for population monitoring or passing humpback whales, orcas, and Risso’s dolphins.

“Cabin selection and booking”

I wanted some advice on cabins as I have never cruised with Ambassador before. I spoke on line and they couldn't help but would get agent to ring me. I did not want a return call so told them what I was after and that I wanted to book next day and they said they would get an agent to email me. No one emailed me so rang reservations, it took a long time to get through. Spoke to agent but could not get info wanted re cabins. I made the booking using my own judgement re cabin selection. I wanted to speak to someone who either knew the ship or access to further info. The pictures and details online did not show exact details, I have booked a suite but have only seen layout of deluxe suite. The person that took my booking was very helpful and tried her best to help me but her resources were limited.

“Booking confirmation confusing”

I had trouble booking as I couldn't confirm my online card payment. Rang the booking line and they booked for me over phone. I've had 4 booking confirmation emails. The first didn't show I had paid a deposit. The second one did. I can't see any difference between the the booking confirmation emails I've received after the second one. Bit confusing and concerned I've missed some important detail.
