WHERE WILL I VISIT ON A CRUISE AROUND ICELAND?

Iceland didn’t gain its prominent nickname, the land of fire and ice, for no reason, and one of the main reasons people choose to visit this island nation is to experience its amazing natural features. From cascading waterfalls to lava fields and whale watching to black-sand beaches, it’s a nature lover’s dream.

The capital, Reykjavik, is one of the highlights of any Iceland cruise holiday. Home to the famous Blue Lagoon Hot Springs, a range of world-class museums, Hallgrimskirkja Church and much more in terms of culture and experience, it’s a city that should be on everyone’s must-visit list.

Outside of the stunning capital, you can enjoy the more remote areas of Iceland that show off beautiful fjords, classic fishing villages and Viking history. Isafjordur and Seydisfjordur are both fjord towns that show off the road less travelled and the “real” Iceland. Here, you can explore amazing natural attractions and uncover what it’s like to live in rural Iceland as you wander the streets of traditional towns.

Akureyri is a lesser-known highlight of a cruise to Iceland. Located on the Northeast of the island at the head of Eyjafjordur, here you can enjoy traditional houses in bright colours and the world’s northernmost botanical garden and golf course – not what most would expect to find when visiting Iceland!

Oftentimes, our cruise itineraries won’t just stop off at Iceland and so, you can also enjoy a cruise to Canada, exploration of Greenland or navigate the Norwegian Fjords whilst taking in what the land of fire and ice has to offer.

Not only are we committed to providing a great value cruising experience to all of our guests, but throughout our work, we prioritise the natural world through responsible port visits and charity initiatives.
