You know we couldn’t let Ambition’s launch event go off without a few surprises, so we enlisted the help of three amazing musicians from cities around the UK to delight those enjoying three of our onboard bars. The launch of Ambition marks the start of our no-fly cruises from 8 regional UK ports, and we wanted to shine a light on some of the best of British from these amazing port cities to celebrate the occasion.
The stylish Clifton Lounge Bar came alive with the powerhouse vocals of the brilliant Naomi Johnson. Naomi started her music career busking on the streets of Bristol, with a backdrop of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, so she was the obvious choice to headline Ambition’s Clifton Lounge on opening night.
From impressing the public in Bristol, Naomi’s trajectory headed skyward as she stunned audiences in the Voice UK 2022. With the help of her mentor, will.i.am, she captivated audiences and made her way to the final. Since then, she’s wowed audiences on stages all around Europe. With influences including Aretha Franklin, Beyonce and Alicia Keys, Naomi’s powerful vocals and fusion of pop, R&B and soul brought the Clifton Lounge to life.

Taking over The Cavern was Mike Blue, a singer-songwriter from Liverpool. Liverpool’s musical pedigree is well-known, with The Cavern Club launching The Beatles and we were excited for The Cavern to shine a light on Mike and his brilliant band.
Mike has been playing professionally since he was just 16 and has honed his voice, playing a fusion of folk, rock, jazz and the blues. Mike established himself on the streets of Liverpool and has a range of stellar projects to his name, from his debut album, The Demo Tapes, released in 2018, to the more recent EP, Of the Fragile Mind. From busking, he’s become a staple of the Liverpool music scene, playing a range of live festivals and venues.

Finally, Pendennis was graced by the brilliantly talented Garry Alexander. Bringing the sounds of Scotland, Garry is a one-man Ceilidh Band with plenty of flair. Though its namesake might be in Falmouth, we knew that Scottish-local Garry was the right person to bring charm and style to Pendennis.
Garry can often be found enchanting pubs and venues around Scotland with his fully midi’d accordion. For those who didn’t make it to Pendennis to catch Garry, you might wonder how one man and an accordion can hold a crowd, but Garry does it with ease, giving you the impression of a full band, including a pianist, bassist and even a drummer all by himself.
